Hi, I’m Mark

For more than a decade, I’ve somehow made a career out of finding strangers on the internet, and convincing them to invite me to their weddings.

Admittedly that first sentence is a bit facetious, but there is some truth to the serendipity of it all. My goal as a wedding photographer is to approach your celebration as though I am an invited guest—not simply an outsider looking in. I want the quality of my work to be reflected in the significance of moments documented, rather than just their artistic impressiveness. Of course I look for the moments where these two qualities intersect, but my primary concern is to make photographs that are going to mean something to the couples that I photograph. Good photography begins with good listening—taking the time to understand the priorities of my clients is an essential part of my approach. My work is story-driven, with a focus on creating honest and timeless photos in an effort to preserve the lasting legacy of the celebrations I’m welcomed into.

When I’m not working, I’m likely spending time at our family cabin with my wife Molly and our scruffy wirehaired pointing griffon named Murphy.
